Located in a portion of Mississippi that is known for its bayous and wetlands, Enid Lake is a body of water with a community of plentiful game fish. Located in the counties Yalobusha, Panola, and Lafayette, Enid Lake is a reservoir that has been impounded by the Enid Dam since 1952. Fishermen who target the many species of Enid Lake will find that there are plenty of opportunities for exciting experiences.

Fishing
Enid Lake holds many different species of freshwater fish, but the most predominant targets include largemouth bass, crappie, white bass, sunfish, catfish, bluegill, and gar. The world record white crappie (5.3 lbs) and the world record shortnose gar (5.83 lbs) were caught on Enid Lake.
The largemouth bass is a popular target across the entire United States, so it is only natural that Enid anglers consider it to be one of their favorites. The largemouth bass can be targeted near shallow weed beds and drop offs during the morning and evening feeding times. During the summer, the Mississippi sun heats these shallow locations, so it is necessary to target the lake’s deep waters beyond the drop offs. Fish gather at main lake points, try casting crankbaits or Carolina rigs to any structure. Productive areas for bass include the Riverview and Cossar areas, the north bank near Chickasaw and the numerous fingers or coves near Point Pleasant recreation area.
The crappie of Enid Lake are considered the most abundant species and they grow big!! Crappie can be found off deep-drops near weed edges during the day. Point Pleasant is an ideal location to target crappie. Also try the coves near Cossar State Park and Wallace Creek.
Enid Lake holds many species of catfish that can be targeted near the bottom of deep areas by using bottom rigs. Such locations include the waters near the Enid Dam and the various fishing holes that can be found by using a depth finder.
Sunfish can be found in weedy areas along the shorelines and in coves. Bynum Creek is a good location for targeting sunfish.

The facilities and accommodations of Enid Lake include tackle shops, fueling stations, boat rentals, piers, camping reservations, picnic areas, and paved boat ramps and other access points.
The Lake
Enid Lake has a maximum depth of 250 feet. The surface area of Enid’s conservation pool is 6,100 acres. It is located at an elevation of 266 feet.
