Fishing
Fishermen of Lake Havasu find that the fish populations of this body of water make for a high quality experience. Species of fish at Lake Havasu include striped bass, largemouth bass, channel catfish, flathead catfish, sunfish, crappie, bluegil, and numerous baitfish species. Due to this wide diversity of game fish, fishing experiences are variable and can change drastically just by changing fishing holes or lures.

The striped bass, commonly referred to as a striper, is one of Havasu's most popular targets. Striped bass anglers should cast their lines at the areas known as Site Six, Havasu Springs, Winsor Basin, and the main channel. Alternatively, fishermen can search for the shad that striper feed on. Schools of shad can be found by locating birds that are hunting in a particular location of the water. In these areas striped bass fishermen should cast topwater lures or bottom rigs with chicken livers or shad.

The largemouth bass is also a frequent catch at Lake Havasu. This fish can be caught throughout the year with the early Summer months being the prime season. Since Lake Havasu is riddled with rock formations and holes, there are plenty of places for largemouth bass to hide. Underwater weed beds are also a great location to try casting. Fishermen should choose one of these locations and cast crankbaits, swimbaits, or jigs.

Both channel and flathead catfish are common catches in Havasu. These can be caught during the entire year in the early morning and evening. The locations known as Parker Dam and the Bill Williams River Arm are usually the best locations for catfish anglers. Fishermen should also test their luck in the main channel and in coves. As the catfish is a bottom feeder, a bottom rig is the best set-up for the situation. Baits such as nightcrawlers, stink baits, and chicken livers are all effective.

Near the shore, casual fishermen and families may enjoy targeting the numerous panfish species that inhabit the lake. These can be catched with a light tackle set-up or a fly rod and make for an excellent meal. 

Facilities 
Lake Havasu is best known for its numerous fishing piers at various points of the lake. Marinas, fueling stations, restrooms, tackle shops, and sleeping accommodations are also available. These will ensure that a visit to Lake Havasu is convenient and enjoyable.

The Lake
Lake Havasu is among one of the largest lakes in Arizona. This body of water covers an area of 30 square miles and has an average depth of 35 feet. At its deepest point, Lake Havasu is 97 feet. When combined with the numerous underwater rock formations, the size of Lake Havasu creates the perfect environment for fish populations.

Lake Havasu is an excellent location for experienced anglers and individuals who enjoy breathtaking views.
