Bluegill, crappie, and sunfish can be caught in the same discharge canal as well as on Lake Konawa’s various points. When targeting these smaller panfish, fishermen should resort to using light tackle such as small lures and plastic worms. Nightcrawlers and crickets are good bait choices as well. The catfish of Lake Konawa can be caught in the deep area located near the discharge and in the center of the lake. A depth finder can be used to find additional fishing spots. Once in a good location, anglers should use a typical bottom rig equipped with a one or two ounce weight and catfish hooks.
